Managing Comments on Word Press

On a website powered by WordPress the web site visitor can share their opinion or offer feedback on posts that you publish. It is this commenting special feature that distinguishes blogging, or a blog, from traditional websites as it provides the opportunity to share and exchange information creating a dialog between the visitor and owner of the website.

With such easy interaction possible for every visitor coming to your site, comment moderation and management is an important part of managing your web site. It’s your site and you ‘ll want to ensure that the quality and ethics of the content that is published meets with your approval.

To manage your blog comments, login into the wordpress admin panel and locate the option called “Comments”. You may find it in the left sidebar where all the main options are listed. Click it to see all comments that you have received. On this page you can approve, reject, edit, delete or reply to a comment. This is the main moderation panel for your comments.

There are number of other options related to comment discussion on a wordpress blog that can help you set and manage authorizations. Under the main option “Settings” locate sub option called “Discussions”. Select this choice to see the choices listed. Using this list you can define other options like:

• If comments are allowed
• If pingbacks and trackbacks are allowed
• How you define a comment as spam
• If a user has to be registered or not to make a comment
